The awards and recognition banquet will serve a dual role. Foremost the banquet will recognize pioneers and leaders in the agricultural, family and consumer sciences fields who have contributed to Louisiana and Southern University throughout the years. Secondly, the awards banquet will serve as a fundraiser for the Ag Center. Contributions will serve as an investment in the future of the Southern University Ag Center, providing additional resources to continue research initiatives, program development, and ultimately providing a better life for the people of this great State. Contributors can be assured that their donation will nourish and sustain the vision and mission of the Ag Center and its efforts of "Linking Citizens of Louisiana with Opportunities for Success."

An added benefit to the awards banquet is a pictorial collection of historical photographs that will be on display in the Southern University Museum of Art. The exhibit will run for six weeks and is guaranteed to be a treat, showcasing Southern University's history and contributions to the State of Louisiana.

This small endeavor by the Southern University Ag Center will affect many as we continue to change and reach the lives of Louisiana's citizens and as we pay tribute in recognizing several of our State's committed and dedicated professionals in the agricultural field - Individuals who have led the way, and broken new ground for those to come.
