It's that time again! Your Winter Training Sessions are readily approaching. This year's
theme is "Get On Board With Your Winter Training," and the training sessions are scheduled
for March 18-19, 2005. This is an opportunity for all family child care providers and
center providers to acquire 9 hours of educational training. Our mission is to enable all
center directors, employees and family child care providers to pursue quality child care
training.
Listed below are the fees, topics, location, and pre-registration information for the
Southern University Ag Center's Child Care Provider Training Sessions.
Fees:
$ 10.00 per (3) clock hour session
For License Class A Center and Registered Family Child Care Providers.
$15.00 per (3) clock hour session
For Participants in Class B Centers.

Various Educational and Child Development sessions will be offered during this conference and
throughout the year. (See attached Child Training Schedule for topics, dates, time, and
location)
Location:
Winter sessions will be held at the Southern University Agricultural Research & Extension
Center on Southern University's Baton Rouge campus. More specifically, the majority of
the sessions will be held at the East Baton Rouge Parish Extension Office @ 805 St. Louis
St. in Baton Rouge. There also will be sessions available to providers for on-site
training for their staff if there are 25 or more participants.
Pre-registration:
Pre-registration is required. To register, Childcare Directors and Providers in East Baton
Rouge Parish and surrounding areas, please mail the enclosed registration form along with
your money order made payable to: Southern University Childcare Provider Training.

Payment:
Payment must be received two weeks prior to the class to insure your reservation. If the
class has more than 30 participants, others will be notified that the session has been filled
and will be allowed to register for the next available session.
On-site Center Pre-registration:
Pre-registration is required for on-site class sessions. Registration for on-site sessions
must be made at least two weeks in advance. When registering for an on-site session please
mail your registration forms along with your money order to the address listed above. If your
center does not have 25 staff persons, it is permissible for centers to combine staff
persons to form a session of 25 participants.
Notification of Pre-registration:
All child care directors and providers will be notified by phone or with a letter of
confirmation once their pre-registration information has been received.
