Watch the Inches Disappear with 3D Body Scanning
Southern University and Ag Center open technology to public
The holiday season is here. Unfortunately, that means Christmas dinner complete with all the trimmings. We will enjoy the wonderful feasts
with family and friends knowing that we will end the year a few pounds heavier and with plans to loose those pounds in the New Year.
However, we tend to keep those holiday season pounds. Well this New Year, take a picture of your body and let it motivate you!
Faculty and staff from the Southern University Agricultural Research and Extension Center and the College of Agricultural, Family, and Consumer
Science are offering three-dimensional body scans to the public.
Interested persons can view their body profile complete with the most accurate body measurements, using modern technology.
The 3D body scanning technique is a non-intrusive technology that scans the human body to produce a 3D model. The scanner uses a series of light
sensors to generate a body model. The individual stands inside the scanner while it captures the body image and produces a 3D body model within 30
seconds. The body model and measurements are printed.
The printout can be displayed in your bathroom, workout area, closet, or wherever to best motive you to make the necessary changes in your diet and
or routine to make those inches disappear. Each time you feel you have made significant progress you can be scanned and easily compare previous
scans. Three-dimensional (3D) body scanning is the easiest way to watch the inches disappear!
"Hopefully, the body scan would motivate the participant to do what is best for their long-term health and physical appearance," says Grace
Namwamba, Ph.D.
What are the benefits?
- Printout of accurate body measurements
- Body shape analysis
- Printout of front and side body profiles
- Opportunity to document and view your physical weight loss or weight management progress
