Southern University Ag Center Livestock Show Office hosted the first Livestock and Poultry Quiz Bowl for high school students, November 14, 2007. The schools competing were Clinton High school and Northwest High School. Students answered various questions about livestock health, management, shows, and production.

Northwest High school won first place and Clinton high school won second place. This is a series with the semifinals and finals to be held at the Livestock Show on Friday February 29, 2008. Northwest High School will advance to the semifinal round.

Other schools scheduled to compete are Pointe Coupe High vs. North Central High, January 16, 2008 and West Feliciana High vs. Port Barre High, February 13, 2008. Dr. Renita Marshall, director, livestock show coordinates the series.
